Sal Express - half‑day island tour

Discover the highlights of Sal Island on a half-day excursion that combines volcanic landscapes, coastal scenery and some of the island's most fascinating natural attractions.

Your journey begins in Santa Maria, from where you will travel to the charming fishing village of Palmeira, one of Sal's main ports. Continue to Terra Boa, where you can witness the famous mirage phenomenon - an extraordinary optical illusion that creates the impression of water shimmering across the desert landscape.

Passing through the island's capital, Espargos, you will head to Shark Bay, where lemon sharks can often be seen swimming close to the shore in their natural habitat. This is a unique opportunity to observe these fascinating animals from a safe distance.

The excursion then continues to the Pedra de Lume volcanic crater, where you will admire the impressive extinct volcano from above and enjoy panoramic views of one of Sal's most iconic landscapes (entrance to the crater is not included).

Before returning to Santa Maria, you will drive through the picturesque bay of Murdeira, known for its beautiful coastal views and peaceful atmosphere.
