This full-day excursion invites you to discover Minca, a charming village nestled in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta. Surrounded by lush nature and cool mountain air, it offers the perfect escape from the heat of the Caribbean coast.
The journey begins with a visit to a traditional coffee farm, where a local family shares the secrets of Colombia’s most emblematic bean from cultivation to roasting while you enjoy the aroma of freshly brewed coffee. The adventure continues with a guided walk along forest trails that lead to waterfalls, natural pools, and rock slides, with time to refresh yourself in the river before heading to the next stop.
At midday, you will be welcomed at a bamboo house by Jungle Joe, your host, who prepares a gourmet lunch inspired by local flavors. Here you will also learn about guadua, Colombia’s “natural steel,” and its importance in sustainable construction.
The experience concludes with a hands-on cacao workshop, where you will discover its history, medicinal benefits, and even prepare your own energy bar. More than a tour, this is an immersion into the Sierra Nevada’s culture, nature, and traditions.
