Get ready for a day full of history, mysteries and extraordinary monuments of ancient Egypt. Luxor - once the capital of the pharaohs, formerly known as Thebes - is one of the world’s most important archaeological sites. Here, almost every stone tells a story that dates back thousands of years.

Your journey will begin early in the morning with hotel pick-up. You will travel in a comfortable small-group atmosphere, in a modern vehicle or minibus with limited seats, allowing for a smoother journey and more time to enjoy the attractions.

The first stop will be the legendary Valley of the Kings, the burial place of the rulers of the New Kingdom from around 1550-1070 BC. You will explore royal tombs decorated with colourful paintings created to guide the pharaohs into the afterlife. For an additional fee, you may also visit the famous tomb of Tutankhamun.

Next, you will discover the monumental Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to one of the most remarkable figures in Egyptian history - the first female pharaoh. Carved into the rock in the 15th century BC, the temple impresses visitors with its unique architecture and symmetry. Interestingly, Polish archaeologists played an important role in the research and reconstruction of this extraordinary site.

Another highlight of the tour is the Colossi of Memnon - two massive stone statues that have guarded the Nile area for more than 3,000 years. According to ancient accounts, one of the statues used to produce mysterious sounds at sunrise, a phenomenon even described by Emperor Hadrian.

For those interested, there is also an optional Nile cruise (additional charge), offering a completely different perspective of Egypt and its landscapes.

During the day, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant, followed by a visit to the impressive Karnak Temple Complex. This vast religious site was expanded over centuries by successive pharaohs. You will see the monumental hypostyle hall with more than 130 gigantic columns reaching up to 24 metres high, covered with hieroglyphs depicting ceremonies, victories and ancient rituals.

To finish the experience, you will visit a traditional papyrus gallery, where you will learn how ancient Egyptians created the world’s first “books” and have the opportunity to purchase local handmade souvenirs.
