Program Description

Descend beneath the streets of Paris and explore one of the French capital's most fascinating and mysterious landmarks. The Paris Catacombs are an extensive underground labyrinth where the remains of approximately six million Parisians have been carefully arranged within its historic tunnels.

As you walk through the underground galleries, you will encounter walls built from human bones and skulls, creating a striking reminder of Paris's past. A multilingual audio guide will reveal the history of the catacombs, explaining why they were created and offering insight into life and death in 18th-century Paris.

This unique experience provides a chance to discover a lesser-known side of Paris and explore one of Europe's most extraordinary historical sites.

Important information
  • Children under 14 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The visit includes 131 steps down and 112 steps back up.
  • Food, drinks, strollers, motorcycle helmets, and luggage are not permitted inside. Only bags measuring up to 40 × 30 cm are allowed and must be carried by hand or at your side, not on your shoulders. Cloakroom facilities are not available.
  • The temperature inside the Catacombs is around 14°C, so warm clothing is recommended.
  • If you wish to use the audio guide, bringing your own headphones is recommended.
