Program Description

Visit Père-Lachaise Cemetery, Paris's most famous cemetery and the most visited cemetery in the world. Combining history, art and remarkable architecture, it is the final resting place of many of the world's most influential writers, musicians and artists.

During a guided walking tour, you will discover the fascinating history of this iconic cemetery while hearing the stories behind its most celebrated residents. Among those buried here are Frédéric Chopin, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, Édith Piaf, Marcel Proust and Gertrude Stein.

As you stroll along its peaceful, tree-lined pathways, you will admire historic tombs, elaborate monuments and the unique atmosphere that makes Père-Lachaise one of Paris's most memorable landmarks. It is the perfect opportunity to explore a different side of the French capital while learning about the lives of some of history's greatest cultural figures.

  • The meeting point is outside the only exit of Alexandre Dumas metro station (Line 2).
  • Please arrive at the meeting point 15 minutes before your selected time slot. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
  • Look for the guide. They will be holding a sign for easy identification.
  • Children under 15 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • The tour ends at Porte du Repos, the cemetery's exit.
