Program Description

Discover Bodrum – the ancient city of Halicarnassus, where history meets the vibrant atmosphere of one of Turkey’s most popular seaside destinations. It’s a unique opportunity to explore a place connected with Herodotus – the father of History, while enjoying a setting filled with whitewashed houses, elegant yachts, and the charm of a lively port town.

Your journey begins with a boat trip to Bodrum, which takes around 35 minutes. Even before arrival, you will admire stunning views of the coastline – amphitheatrically arranged white houses, a harbour full of sailing boats, and the impressive silhouette of a castle overlooking the town. After passing customs and passport control, you will have free time to explore the city at your own pace.

During your stay, you may visit the Castle of St. Peter, one of the most remarkable fortresses in the region, built by the Knights of St. John. Walking along its walls, you will step back in time and discover the rich history of this strategic landmark. You can also stroll through the remains of ancient Halicarnassus, the birthplace of Herodotus, and imagine how this city once looked in antiquity.

Bodrum is not only about history – it also offers breathtaking scenery and a relaxed holiday vibe. You will see the iconic windmills, a symbol of the region, as well as the ancient Greek theatre, which once accommodated up to 13,000 spectators. It’s a place where past and present blend seamlessly.

There will also be time to explore the local bazaar, one of the most famous in Turkey. It’s the perfect opportunity to experience the oriental atmosphere, taste regional flavours, and find unique souvenirs.

The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.

The trip was almost a run, there was very little time for leisurely sightseeing, and shopping during free time certainly added to the attraction due to its Turkish character.
