Start your journey with a short photo stop at the famous volcanic Red beach, well known for the unique color of the sand, its soaring red lava cliffs and clear green waters (approach the beach on foot, about 10 minutes of walk one way). Continue with Akrotiri Excavation Site (entrance fee not included, 12,00 euro p.p.), a guided tour of the so called “Prehistoric Pompei” or “Lost Atlantis”, one of the most important Minoan Bronze Age settlements of Greece, buried and preserved by the volcanic ash of the second largest volcanic eruption in human history (17th century BC). After the visit drive to Perissa Beach to enjoy free time and to have lunch (optional – not included) and relax at one of the longest black sandy beaches in the Cyclades and the most popular beach of Santorini. Drive to explore Emporio Village one of the oldest and most authentic traditional villages of Santorini, built like a small labyrinth and visit its medieval fortress (15th century). In a nearby Santorini Winery, taste Santorini’s distinctive wines and learn about one of the oldest vineyards in Europe while admiring the spectacular view of the volcano. Continue your tour with a short stop at the highest peak of Santorini (567 meters) at Profitis Ilias Mountain, to admire the striking panoramic view of the entire island. Finally transfer to the popular village of Oia and the most photographed place in Greece. Enjoy free time to experience its legendary sunset. Return 30 minutes after Sunset to your hotel.
