Program Description

Discover one of Sardinia’s most distinctive towns and explore local wine-making traditions during an excursion that combines a tasting of regional products with a visit to the historic centre of Alghero.

The excursion begins in the surroundings of Alghero, where, in a peaceful setting among vineyards, you will enjoy a tasting of three local wines accompanied by typical Sardinian products. This is an opportunity to discover the flavours of the region and learn more about local wine-making traditions.

The tour then continues to Alghero, one of the most popular destinations on Sardinia’s west coast. For centuries, the town was influenced by Catalan culture, traces of which can still be seen today in its architecture, traditions and even street names.

A walk through the historic centre will introduce you to some of the town’s most interesting landmarks, including the Cathedral of Santa Maria, sections of the ancient defensive walls and the characteristic Spanish towers that once protected the coastline.

After the guided visit, there will be free time for lunch and independent exploration of the town. Alghero is well known for its seafood cuisine, with lobster being one of its most famous local specialities. It is also worth looking out for items made from red coral, a traditional symbol of the region.

After the free time, the excursion concludes with the return transfer to the hotel.

The order of visits and the programme may change.
