Program Description

An afternoon tour awaits you, giving you the chance to discover the real Sorrento - not only the postcard-famous sights, but also its less obvious and more authentic side. This approximately 2.5-hour walking tour with a local guide is the perfect choice if you want to explore the city at a relaxed pace and see places that are mostly known only to locals.

In the afternoon, you will set off on a pleasant stroll with a passionate guide who knows Sorrento inside out and is happy to share local stories and interesting insights. As you walk through the city, you will explore quiet streets, hidden courtyards, and lesser-known alleys that reveal everyday life in this seaside resort. Of course, the most iconic landmarks are also included. You will see Piazza Tasso, the lively heart of Sorrento, and stop at a viewpoint overlooking Vallone dei Mulini - a picturesque gorge with the ruins of ancient mills, covered in lush greenery.

During the walk, you will visit the Cathedral of Sorrento, a blend of history and art, as well as the Basilica of Sant’Antonino, dedicated to the town’s patron saint and linked to numerous legends and maritime traditions of the region. Another stop is the Cloister of San Francesco - a peaceful oasis located just steps away from the bustling center. Its remarkable architecture, varied columns, and monumental pepper tree create a unique atmosphere that attracts photography lovers and fans of romantic settings.

Right next door lies Villa Comunale, offering one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the Bay of Naples. This is the perfect moment to slow down, relax, and enjoy the scenery of the city and the sea. During the tour, you will also discover one of the most important local traditions - the art of wood inlay. You will visit a local workshop or gallery to see how these precise and finely crafted works, for which Sorrento is famous worldwide, have been created for centuries.

There will also be a delightful moment for your taste buds. You will stop for a fresh lemon or orange juice, or lemon gelato, perfectly capturing the flavors of the region. The walk concludes in Marina Grande - a former fishing village filled with colorful boats and seaside charm. It is an ideal place for photos, a moment of relaxation, and a peaceful end to the afternoon by the sea.
