Program Description
The Canyoning in Ribeira das Cales starts at “Chão da Lagoa” in the Ecological Park of Funchal at approximately 1500 meters high. Along to the route, we found 5 rappels and to overcome the obstacles of the nature we need to walk, abseiling (rappeling), swim and jump in beautiful lakes and waterfalls. This Canyoning experience is the best for all people who want to have the first contact with this amazing sport. Canyoning Madeira Island is considered one of the best things to do in Madeira and is the ideal tour for those that are looking to explore the nature of Madeira Island. It is a great way to get into the more inaccessible but beautiful places that form part of Madeira’s stunning landscape. No experience necessary, our guides will assess your skill and give you alternative routes where possible if you’re uncomfortable.
Duration: 5min (Approaching); 2 hours (Canyon) & 30min (Exit). Difficulty: Level 1 – very easy
Highest Rappel: approximately 12 meters high.
Minimum height of the participant: 125 cm.
Minimum weight of the participant: 25 Kg
NOTE: comfortable sports shoes for a change are recommended (footwear used during activity may get wet).
The tour can be organized in a small group (up to 8 persons) on request basis.
Important information
To participate in the excursion, participants are required to provide the following information to the organizer: weight, height, shoe size, and clothing size. Providing this information is necessary for preparing the equipment.
