Program Description
These famous gardens, also known as Palheiro Gardens, have been in the Blandy family since 1885 and were laid out in the 18th century. In this well maintained garden there is a sunken garden, topiary and an entrance drive planted with camellias. English country garden style where some of the original themed gardens have survived to the present day plus the new exotic plants that have been introduced make it a fascinating garden to visit. On leaving the gardens, we set off to join one of the Madeira´s Levadas (mini irrigation canals), The pleasant easy walk takes approximately 40 minutes and culminates with a visit to a tea house from where you are picked up before returning to the hotel.
