Visit the Embera indigenous village by “canoe”, enjoy the day with one of the seven ethnic cultures in Panama, it’s a tropical rainforest community, located deep in the Chagres National Park of Panama. As your dugout canoe winds up the Chagres River (aprox 1 hour canoe ride). The river crossing is a beautiful experience. Navigating the crystal clear waters of the river that winds through the rainforest within the Chagres National Park. It is a unique opportunity to observe the animals in their natural environment. Upon reaching the village you can hear the sounds of traditional flutes and drums to give visitors a cordial welcome to the community. Here through various activities the tourist can know the indigenous culture, the history of the town and anecdotes about life in the village. To mention some of the activities: talk given by members of the community to learn of the fantastic culture, rituals and history of the Emberá, samples of the crafts, delicious local food served in traditional dish or leaf of bijao, dance show and traditional music to the rhythm of chimbonbón (if you want you can dance with them), natural way with a botanic doctor to learn of the medicinal plants.
