Discover the Peles Castle, the summer residence of the former Royal Family. The castle was built in 19’th century by the first King of Romania, King Carol the 1’st. It is famous for its 160 unique rooms and for the innovations of the time of construction, like the mobile glass ceiling and the controlled heating system. Next you will enjoy a royal wine tasting at the royal cellar in Azuga, one of the first sparkling wine producers in the country, being the main supplier for the Royal Family. Another highlight of this tour is Bran Castle, the main inspiration for Bram Stoker’s book. Some said that Bram Stoker’s Dracula stories are not fiction, but legend or truth, it can be found out only during this tour! At the end, you will know if you are a „Royal” or a „Stoker”. DAY 1. Arrival – Sinaia – Azuga – Vulcan (near Brasov) Welcome to Romania! As soon as you set foot on the wonderful Romanian land, in Otopeni International Airport, meet your local guide and driver. After the warm greetings, enjoy a scenic transfer to Sinaia City, known as “The pearl of the Carpathians”. Here you will visit the stunning Peles Castle, the summer residence of the former Royal family. Considered by many one of the most stunning castles in Europe, The Peles Castle is a masterpiece of German new-Renaissance architecture. Then continue to the Rhein Cellar in Azuga, one of the firsts sparkling wine producers in the country, with a history of 120 years. After the wine tasting, enjoy a scenic ride to Vulcan. Dinner at the hotel. DAY 2. Vulcan – Brasov – Bran – Vulcan This morning transfer to Brasov, the most important economic, political and cultural center of Transylvania during the Middle Ages. The Black Church, the largest Gothic church between the Ural Mountains and Vienna, is a must see. Interesting are also the Town Hall Square, where the Old Town Hall was built in the 15th century. After visiting Brasov, you will be transfered to Bran, where you will find the famous Bran Castle. The castle was built by the Saxons from Brasov at the end of the 14th century and served as customs between Wallachia and Transylvania. The legend says that Dracula lived here but history mentions the royal family spending its summers inside the medieval castle. Legend or truth can be found out only during the inside tour. Return to your hotel. Dinner in hotel. DAY 3. Vulcan – Departure Free time at leisure. Then drive to Bucharest and say farewell to the guide.
