Program Description
In the heart of Catalonia lies Gala Dalí Castle in Púbol, where medieval architecture meets the world of Surrealism. It was here that the famous painter Salvador Dalí created a private retreat for his wife and muse, Gala, filled with art, mystery and romantic stories.
From the outside, you'll see an 11th-century castle, whose stone walls conceal interiors designed according to Dalí's artistic vision. As you explore, you'll discover how the painter transformed this historic residence into a place of rest and refuge for his beloved wife. Every corner of the castle offers a glimpse into the lives of this extraordinary couple and their unconventional relationship.
Interestingly, Gala valued her privacy so much that even Salvador Dalí could only visit her with prior written permission! She spent the final years of her life at the castle and, after her death, was laid to rest in its crypt.
A visit to Gala Dalí Castle in Catalonia is a chance to step into the private world of one of the 20th century's most famous artists and learn about a love story that defied convention.
