Program Description
Step into the world of one of the most recognisable artists of the 20th century. The Salvador Dalí House-Museum in Portlligat gives you the chance to discover the place where Dalí lived and worked with his wife, Gala. From the house, you can also enjoy views over Portlligat Bay, a landscape that formed part of the artist’s everyday life for many years.
Dalí lived here from 1930 to 1982, gradually transforming the property into a space as unusual as his art. During your visit, you will discover interiors filled with unexpected details - windows of different shapes, surprising passageways and original furnishings that reflect the artist’s distinctive personality.
One of the highlights is Salvador Dalí’s studio, where he created many of his works. It is a unique opportunity to step inside a space closely connected with his creative process and gain a better sense of what his daily life in Portlligat was like.
The visit also includes the surroundings of the house, where you can see sculptures and artistic features. Together, the house, garden and coastal setting create an extraordinary place where Dalí’s private life, art and the landscape of the Catalan coast come together.
Important information
- A typical visit lasts around 50 minutes.
- The road to Cadaqués is challenging, and the journey from Figueres takes at least 1 hour by car. Please plan to arrive at least 30 minutes before your booked time slot. Late arrivals cannot be refunded or rescheduled, so make sure to allow plenty of time for your journey.
- Flash photography, eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted inside the museum.
- Large bags, backpacks, luggage, umbrellas, pushchairs and other items considered a potential risk by museum staff are not allowed inside.
- Lockers are available for €1.
- Animals are not permitted, with the exception of guide dogs.
