The Nerja Caves are located 60 kilometers North of Malaga, and although they date from 75 million years ago, they were only discovered in 1959. The city of Nerja is situated close to the “Sierra de Almijara” and is actually visited by thousands of tourists, being the caves declared a National Monument. Frigiliana is a typical town nearby which still has the essence of Andalusia.Departure from the Costa del Sol to Malaga and Nerja, arrival and free time to visit to the famous Caves. Continuation to Frigiliana, with a visit to the old quarter and the earlier fortress which sheltered the last Moors of the region.
