Program Description
In the heart of Madrid, you can embark on a journey through some of the world’s most fascinating corners - from forests inhabited by koalas and pandas to an underwater world filled with exotic fish. Located in the vast Casa de Campo park, Zoo Aquarium Madrid covers 22 hectares and is home to over 1,300 animals representing more than 333 species. There is also an aquarium and an aviary, allowing you to discover an impressive variety of wildlife in a single visit.
The park is organised according to zoogeographic regions, allowing you to see animals in environments inspired by their natural habitats. Giant pandas, Iberian lynxes, koalas, red pandas, Asian rhinos and gorillas are just some of the species you can encounter during your visit. You’ll also see giant tortoises, bald eagles and Saharan gazelles.
One of the highlights of the visit is the aquarium, where you can discover a world of exotic fish and other aquatic species. It’s also worth visiting the aviary to see a variety of bird species. The park’s environments have been designed to recreate, as closely as possible, the conditions in which the animals live in the wild.
Zoo Aquarium Madrid combines wildlife encounters with modern technology. IrenIA, an interactive virtual assistant powered by artificial intelligence and synthetic biology, can provide real-time information about the species, help you plan your visit and make it easier to explore the park.
You can also discover “Land of Gorillas”, where a virtual reality experience lets you step into the world of these fascinating animals. It’s an engaging way to complement your visit and explore wildlife through technology.
The park also focuses on animal conservation, education and efforts to protect endangered species. During your visit, you can not only see a wide variety of animals, but also learn more about their habitats and why conservation matters.
Pandas, koalas, gorillas, Iberian lynxes, exotic fish and hundreds of other species - Zoo Aquarium Madrid lets you discover the diversity of the animal world without leaving the Spanish capital. Explore the different areas, dive into the underwater world, discover innovative technology and see what awaits you around the next corner.
