Program Description

Visit Zoo Atlanta, one of the leading zoos in the United States, dedicated to wildlife conservation, research and education. Home to animals from across the globe, the zoo offers the opportunity to experience incredible wildlife while learning about the importance of protecting endangered species and their natural habitats.

The zoo is home to more than 200 animal species, including many that are endangered. As you explore the different habitats, you will visit the African Savanna, where elephants, giraffes, zebras, ostriches, warthogs and meerkats roam in spacious enclosures. Nearby, you can also see the modern African lion complex and the redesigned habitat for southern white rhinos.

Zoo Atlanta is also renowned for having one of the largest populations of gorillas and orangutans in North America, offering a unique opportunity to observe these remarkable great apes. Be sure to visit Scaly Slimy Spectacular, an indoor reptile and amphibian centre featuring more than 50 fascinating species from around the world.

A visit to Zoo Atlanta combines unforgettable wildlife encounters with education and conservation, making it a fantastic day out for visitors of all ages.

Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
Outside food is permitted. However, alcohol, glass containers, and fast-food straws and lids are not allowed.
Children under 3 years of age can enter free of charge and do not require a ticket.
Active and former military personnel can purchase discounted tickets on site with a valid military ID.
Pets are not permitted, with the exception of service animals. Please note that service animals may not be allowed in certain areas of the zoo.
Scan your smartphone ticket at the admission gates.
Food and drinks are available to purchase using cash, debit or credit card.
Food outlets close one hour before the zoo closes, and rides close 30 minutes before closing time.
On-site parking is available for $3 per hour, up to a maximum of $12 per day.
Last admission is 1.5 hours before closing.
