Program Description

Star-filled skies, distant planets and the mysteries of the universe - stargazing at Mount Teide is a wonderful opportunity to explore the fascinating world of astronomy. Surrounded by Tenerife's volcanic landscapes and far from the city lights, you'll admire a sky full of stars and discover celestial objects that are difficult to see with the naked eye.

Teide National Park is one of Tenerife's most remarkable destinations. It's home to Mount Teide, which rises to 3,718 metres and is the highest peak in Spain. Nearby stands Pico Viejo, the island's second-highest peak, reaching 3,135 metres. The entire park, recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is known for its spectacular landscapes of solidified lava, craters and rocky formations.

After sunset, the mountainous landscape becomes the setting for an extraordinary spectacle. Thanks to low levels of light pollution and favourable atmospheric conditions, the area around Mount Teide is considered one of the best places for astronomical observation. During your night-time stargazing experience using modern telescopes, you'll have the opportunity to observe planets, distant galaxies and star clusters. The visibility of individual celestial objects depends on the weather and astronomical conditions.

You'll also discover the important role stars have played throughout human history. For centuries, they helped travellers navigate, find their way and understand the world around them. As you observe the night sky, you'll gain a deeper appreciation of why astronomy has fascinated people for generations.

Stargazing at Mount Teide is a unique experience that combines the beauty of the night sky with the exploration of the universe's mysteries. The sight of countless stars above Tenerife's volcanic landscape will make this an evening to remember.
