Program Description

A walk through La Candelaria leads through one of Bogotá’s most distinctive neighbourhoods, where the city’s history meets contemporary street art. The route focuses on murals and graffiti that have become an important part of the local urban landscape and a form of cultural expression.

As you walk through the neighbourhood, you can see selected murals and learn more about the context in which they were created. The guide explains how local culture influences the artists’ work and how perceptions of graffiti have changed over time - from something once regarded as vandalism to a recognised form of art in public spaces.

The tour provides an introduction to Bogotá’s street art scene and does not require any previous knowledge of graffiti. It offers a chance to view the city through its contemporary creativity, symbols and stories expressed on the walls of La Candelaria.
