Program Description

Travel through ancient Greek history on a full-day journey to the archaeological treasures of the Argolis region. The tour combines ancient sites, historic towns and scenic landscapes across the Peloponnese.

Travel along the scenic coastal route and stop at the Corinth Canal, an impressive feat of engineering connecting the Aegean and Ionian seas. Continue into Argolis and Mycenae, one of the most important centres of the Mycenaean civilisation and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

In Mycenae, see the monumental Cyclopean Walls, the famous Lion Gate and the Royal Tombs of Agamemnon and Clytemnestra. You will also visit the Treasury of Atreus, an impressive 14th-century BC burial monument.

Continue to Nafplio, a picturesque port town and the first capital of independent Greece. During a walking tour, see the Venetian fortress of Palamidi and the fortified islet of Bourtzi in the bay. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at a seaside restaurant with views of Bourtzi.

The final stop is the archaeological site of Epidaurus, a UNESCO World Heritage Site associated with the ancient cult of Asklepios, the god of healing. The highlight is the Theatre of Epidaurus, renowned for its exceptional acoustics and remarkably well-preserved classical architecture.

After the tour, return to Athens following a day filled with history, archaeology and scenic landscapes across the Peloponnese.
