Program Description
An afternoon hike to Mount Profitis Ilias in Rhodes is a great choice if you want to experience the island from a different perspective – more peaceful, closer to nature and away from the crowds. You will begin in the charming village of Salakos, where, together with a certified hiking leader, you will set off along a shaded trail winding through pine, cypress and holm oak forests. The route is easy and suitable for families, allowing you to fully enjoy the surroundings and the calm atmosphere. As you ascend, the views gradually open up – you will see the Aegean Sea, the Turkish coastline and nearby islands.
At the summit, you will discover fascinating traces of the island’s Italian past – distinctive colonial-era buildings, including the Alpine-style Elafos and Elafina hotels and the elegant Villa de Vecchi.
