Program Description
Start your morning tour of Mombasa, a city whose history dates back to the 12th century, when Arab spice traders arrived, carried by the monsoon winds.
Your first stop will be the famous Elephant Tusks on Moi Avenue, one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks. You will then continue to Mombasa Old Town, where you will see historic Fort Jesus, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. The area is also home to old mosques, narrow and lively streets, and the former harbour for traditional dhow boats.
Next, visit the spice market, where you can discover local aromas and have some time for shopping. After exploring Mombasa, return to your hotel for lunch.
The order of sightseeing and the programme may be subject to change.
