Mountain bike in Madeira

This is a pleasant, fun and ecological way of getting to know Madeira’s mountains. We proposes to provide unforgettable moments in bicycle tours on earthen roads, protected natural areas or small villages. After pick up from the hotel, the tour starts in the mountains of Madeira, surrounded by breath-taking views.

With good uphill and easy challenging trails this tour will guide us through some of the most famous microclimatic and vegetation zones.

Then we ride the Levada in the direction of Camacha / Santo da Serra and Portela, with the endemic Laurel Forest covering the trail, with an endless green color. The sightseeing point of Portela offers a spectacular view over the North side of the island, in particular over the coastal village of Porto da Cruz. After a small break in a nice bar we continue our tour inside the Reserve Natura 2000 network, along dirt roads and trails, always with the endemic Laurel Forest surrounding the trails. After some kilometers, we reach Fajã dos Rolos. Here we will take an old road down to Machico City, finishing at sea level.

Return transfer to the hotels.
