Your journey begins with a drive from Funchal to Pico do Areeiro (1818 m) - the third-highest peak on the island. From here, You can enjoy spectacular panoramic views and, on a clear day, spot Ponta de São Lourenço, Curral das Freiras, and even the island of Porto Santo.

Next, You will head to Ribeiro Frio, located in the heart of the Laurissilva Forest, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This peaceful area is known for its trout farms and as a starting point for scenic levada walks. You will have the option to take an easy walk to the Balcões viewpoint, offering stunning views over the green valleys and mountains.

The tour continues to Santana, one of Madeira’s most emblematic locations, famous for its traditional triangular houses with thatched roofs. This region is recognised by UNESCO as a Biosphere Reserve, highlighting its unique natural and cultural value.

After sightseeing, You will enjoy lunch at the Faial Tea House, with a choice of fish, meat or vegetarian options. The journey then follows scenic old roads towards Porto da Cruz, where dramatic mountains form a natural amphitheatre by the ocean, alongside small black sand beaches.

In Porto da Cruz, You will visit the historic Engenhos do Norte distillery, where traditional sugarcane rum is still produced using original methods. It’s a great opportunity to learn about local traditions and craftsmanship.

Before returning, You will stop at the Ponta do Rosto viewpoint in Caniçal, where You can admire both the northern and southern coasts of Madeira. After this final stop, You will head back to Your hotel, completing one of the island’s most popular tours.
