Program Description
Visit the Auckland War Memorial Museum to explore New Zealand's culture, history and heritage. Housed in a historic building surrounded by a peaceful park, the museum features extensive collections dedicated to Māori and Pacific cultures.
See more than 2,000 Māori artefacts, including traditional carvings and a historic waka, a Māori war canoe carved from a giant tōtara tree. The collection also includes a traditional Māori meeting house, offering insight into the culture and customs of New Zealand's Indigenous people.
The museum also features exhibitions dedicated to New Zealand's natural history and the formation and development of Auckland.
