Program Description
Discover two remarkable places in Slovenia on one tour - the vast underground world of Postojna Cave and the picturesque Predjama Castle. Travel by electric train through the cave system, explore its remarkable rock formations on foot and visit a castle built partly into a dramatic cliff face.
Your visit to Postojna Cave begins with a ride on an electric train that takes you deep into the extensive cave system. You will then continue on foot, passing limestone curtains, stone pillars and other formations that have developed over thousands of years.
Above ground, you will continue to Predjama Castle, whose setting within the cliff gives it a distinctive character. In the 15th century, the castle was the seat of Erasmus of Lueg, known as the Slovenian Robin Hood. During your visit, you can also see historical relics preserved inside the castle.
Combining a visit to Postojna Cave with Predjama Castle offers the chance to discover two remarkable places that reflect Slovenia’s natural and historical heritage.
The order of sightseeing and the programme may change.
