Program Description

On this excursion in Zanzibar, you’ll uncover the island’s history and experience it first-hand.

Stone Town is the historic district of Zanzibar City and is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. For centuries, Arab, Indian, Persian, and European influences have crossed paths here - something clearly visible in its architecture.

With your guide, you’ll explore the narrow alleys, intricately carved doors, and bustling markets filled with the scents of exotic fruits. There will also be some free time to shop for souvenirs.

Stone Town also holds a darker chapter of history - it was once one of East Africa’s key slave trade centres. Your guide will show you the places connected to this complicated past, which is still remembered today.

After this deep dive into history, you’ll head to Zanzibar’s largest spice plantation. Here, you’ll learn how cloves, vanilla, coconuts, cardamom, ginger, turmeric, and nutmeg are grown. This part of the excursion is a true feast for the senses - you can smell, touch, and even taste the spices straight from the plant.

In addition to spices, you’ll also discover seasonal fruits and medicinal plants that have been an essential part of local tradition for centuries.

After visiting the spice plantation, you will enjoy a traditional lunch in a unique setting.

A journey through Stone Town and the spice plantations will leave you with unforgettable memories of Zanzibar.

Please note that the order of visits and the program may be subject to change.

A very well-organized trip. I felt well-cared for. A great place, worth seeing.

No complaints at all. The tour was great and interesting. One point less on the scale for the prices at the spice plantation. They`re very exorbitant; in other places, the same products can ...

Stone Town was a disaster. Everything was rushed. There was little free time, and attractions were undergoing renovations. The trip was saved from disaster by two factors: the guide, who was...

I enjoyed both trips. The guide, "Grzegorz Brzęczyszczykiewicz," was a very positive, kind man. He had a good rapport with tourists and spoke beautifully in Polish. The least appealing part ...
