Program Description

Discover the diverse side of Sri Lanka - from lush green tea plantations to wild nature and places where animals are given a real second chance. This tour combines local traditions, nature and unforgettable encounters with wildlife.

You will meet your local guide and head towards the Pitigala region, known for its tea cultivation. You will visit the Athukorala tea factory and plantation, where you will learn about the entire production process - from freshly picked leaves to the final brew. On site, you will taste aromatic Ceylon tea and have the opportunity to purchase it directly from the source.

During the day, a traditional lunch will be served at a local restaurant - a perfect moment to relax and enjoy regional flavours.

Next, you will visit a truly special place - the Udawalawe Elephant Transit Home, a rehabilitation centre for young elephants. This is where injured, sick or orphaned animals recover under professional care. It is an ethical sanctuary where elephants are not kept in chains or cages, and their stay is focused on one goal - returning to their natural habitat.

The next part of the journey takes you to Udawalawe National Park, one of the most important national parks in Sri Lanka. During a jeep safari, you will explore vast open landscapes and have the chance to spot elephants, water buffalo, deer and a wide variety of bird species. The park was established in 1972 to protect wildlife after the creation of the Udawalawe Reservoir on the Walawe River and today it is one of the best places to observe elephants in the wild.

After a day full of experiences, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

The order of visits and the programme may change.
