Yala (2 days)

A safari in Yala National Park is a unique opportunity to discover the wild side of Sri Lanka and observe animals in their natural habitat. This 2-day tour combines an exciting adventure with relaxation and the chance to experience the island’s rich wildlife up close.

You will travel towards the park located approximately 300 km from Colombo. Established in 1938, Yala National Park covers nearly 1,000 km² and is one of the most developed and popular national parks in the country. It is famous for its incredible biodiversity and stunning landscapes, making it an ideal place for wildlife spotting.

During an approximately 3-hour jeep safari, you will explore vast areas of the park in search of wild animals. You may encounter herds of elephants, elusive leopards, wild buffaloes and crocodiles. Along the way, you might also spot jackals, sloth bears and colourful peacocks. The park is also a paradise for bird lovers - it is home to around 130 species, including both resident and migratory birds. Every moment of the safari brings new emotions and unforgettable encounters with nature.

After a day full of experiences, you will head to your hotel for dinner and an overnight stay - a perfect time to relax after the safari. The next morning, after breakfast, you will begin your return journey. On the way, you will visit a turtle hatchery in Tissamaharama, where you will learn more about these fascinating creatures and the conservation efforts to protect them.
